So, it looks like former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney has decided to throw some shade at his former boss, Donald Trump. Mulvaney, who served as acting chief of staff under Trump, recently referred to the ex-president as a “trampoline president.” Now, I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of a trampoline president before. Is that like a president who bounces back from scandals and legal troubles faster than you can say “covfefe”?
Speaking of legal troubles, Trump’s bond was recently reduced from a whopping 1 million to a slightly less eye-watering 250,000 in a case related to the Capitol riot on January 6th. I guess even former presidents get discounts these days. Maybe there was a coupon involved, who knows?
Mulvaney’s comment about Trump being a trampoline president implies that he believes Trump has some sort of magical ability to bounce back from tough situations. I mean, the man did survive four years in the White House without getting impeached twice… oh, wait.
