Lights dim on Biden’s speech, but his commitment shines bright in State of the Union.
So, here we have President Biden, taking his sweet time to exit the House chamber after his State of the Union address. I mean, we get it Joe, you want to chat, take selfies, and discuss the Israel-Gaza war with lawmakers. But did you have to make it a marathon event? The man was like a kid at a birthday party, not wanting the night to end. I half expected him to break out into a karaoke rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin'” just to keep the party going.
But then, just when you thought the show was over, the lights started dimming. Was it a technical glitch? A subtle hint to wrap it up? Maybe Nancy Pelosi was backstage with a dimmer switch, sending a not-so-subtle message to get the heck out of there. Either way, it added a touch of drama to an otherwise standard political event. I mean, who needs fireworks when you have dimming lights, am I right?
Despite the theatrics, President Biden soldiered on, talking about infrastructure, job creation, and the importance of bipartisanship. I have to give it to him, the man can talk. And talk. And talk some more. It’s like he’s auditioning for a one-man show on Broadway. But hey, at least he’s passionate about his agenda, even if it means keeping everyone in the House chamber past their bedtime.
In the end, the dimming lights didn’t overshadow the substance of President Biden’s speech. Whether you’re a fan or a critic, you have to admit the man knows how to command a room. And hey, if he can keep the nation’s attention for over 35 minutes after his speech, maybe there’s hope for bipartisanship after all. Or maybe he’s just really good at filibustering in person.
As we look to the future, one thing’s for sure – President Biden isn’t going to let a little thing like dimming lights stop him from pushing his ambitious agenda forward. So buckle up, folks, because it looks like we’re in for a wild ride. And who knows, maybe next time he’ll bring a disco ball to really liven things up.
